13-09-06 From the perspective of the military-industrial comlex, there cannot be a lost war...

War in Syria can only produce profits for the Military-Industrial Complex, as well as the oil industry.  From such perspective, the People of the US (beyond the victims in Syria) are the likely losers through hiked oil prices and deepening of the current Greater Depression... JZ

The large majority of the American people say no, absolutely not; they are joined by a similar majority of the International Community who are in total agreement. Pitted against the wishes of the people of the world, President Obama and the Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) are not the least deterred as they march in lockstep into yet another U.S. military debacle.

13-09-06 US v UK response to a deceitful, war-mongering government

The clock is ticking, with President Obama and Secretary Kerry frantically selling a war that the American people don't want to buy. If Congress goes ahead and approves military action, they -- unlike their British counterparts -- will fail to represent the people who elected them.

13-09-06 Israel: "The Protest Guards"

Over the past year a new technique has emerged in the Israeli Social Protest movement - "Protest Guards". Such Guards include, among others:
* "Parliament (Knesset) Gaurds" - individuals that make a point of appearing in various general and committee sessions to witness and report the going ons;
* Guards in front of the residence of the Treasury Minster's residence on a weekly basis - to protest the austerity measures;
* Guards in front of the residence of the Natural Resources Minister on a weekly basis - to protest the theft of gas fields, and starting this week -
* Guards in front of the residence of the Minister of Justice - to protest the corrupt justice system.
Needless to say, none of this could ever happen in the United States without violent response by police!

P.S.
As previously mentioned, women's power is an important factor in the Israseli protest movement.  in Hebrew, verbs and adjectives are declined in masculine or feminine, and women insist on phrasing protest messages in the feminine (versus the old English and Hebrew style dictum "men embrace women").  Therefore, the portests sign on the left, against privatization of newly discovered gas fields with minimum royalties to the treasury, is phrased in the feminine...

13-09-05 Obama's Syria foreign policy coup - an anti-American front from Beijing through Moscow to the Vatican!

While Putin enjoys ridiculing the US in general, and the Obama administration in particular, China is more reserved, but gets straight to the point: The US gov is again going to cause major manipulation of oil prices and deepen the world economic crisis.  In short - the war in Iraq redux.
Regardless, the Obama regime has already  managed an unprecedented foreign policy coup: An unprecedented anti-American front stretching from Beijing through Moscow to the Vatican!
And US media continue their lame reporting.  jz

Syria crisis: China joins Russia in opposing military strikes

Chinese intervention comes as leaders gather for G20 summit hosted by Vladimir Putin, who has threatened to send a missile shield to Syria if US launches attack without UN backing
China has joined Russia in opposing military strikes on Syria, saying it would push up oil prices and create an economic downturn.
The Chinese intervention came as G20 leaders gathered in Saint Petersburg on Thursday for a summit likely to be dominated by Syria. The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, is expected to allow the issue on to the agenda for dinner, reflecting the reality that the fate of the world economy is inextricably intertwined with the risk of a Middle East conflagration.

Vladimir Putin calls John Kerry a liar over al-Qaeda in Syria claims

Russian President Vladimir Putin called US Secretary of State John Kerry a liar, claiming he had denied that al-Qaeda was fighting with the Syrian opposition in that country's civil war.

US Hits Back at Putin 'Liar' Comment About Kerry

The State Department is hitting back at what it calls false accusations that Russian President Vladimir Putin made about Secretary of State John Kerry.
The Russian president accuses Kerry of lying about the extent of al-Qaida operatives in Syria.
Jen Psaki (SAH'-kee) is a department spokeswoman. She says Kerry is a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam war and has had more than words aimed at him.
Psaki says Kerry is not losing sleep because of Putin's quote preposterous comment that was based on an inaccurate rendering of what Kerry said.
Putin said Wednesday that Kerry lied about al-Qaida in Syria, after Kerry told Congress the Syrian opposition was becoming more moderate.
USA TODAY
Things aren't exactly warming up between the Obama administration and Vladimir Putin, even as President Obama arrived in St. Petersburg for the G-20 summit.

Putin called Obama Secretary of State John Kerry a liar over Kerry's testimony this week before Congress.

The question may be al-Qaeda's influence on the Syrian rebels, an issue Kerry has downplayed...

Vanity Fair
President of Men Vladimir Putin told a number of his advisers that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is a liar. Specifically, Putin said: “This was very unpleasant and surprising for me. We talk to them (the Americans) and we assume they are decent people, but he is lying and he knows that he is lying. This is sad.” It is, according to CBS News, “unclear exactly what Putin was referencing.”
CBS News guesses that the comment may have had something to do with Kerry’s statement on Tuesday that the Syrian opposition (the people the U.S. wants to . . . fight? No—help . . . help . . . for now) does not consist of al-Qaeda-associated religious extremists. According to Kerry, our friends-to-be, the anti–Bashar Assad Syrian opposition, is “increasingly become more defined by its moderation.”
