12-09-26 Former Israeli Prime Minister Olmert convicted of breach of trust, gets suspended prison sentence

The litigation unveiled a minister, later prime minister, whose secretary was in the habit of accepting sealed envelopes full of cash, but could not remember where the cash ended up... There are still other corruption cases pending against Olmert, but talks are already under way regard9ing his return to politics.  Government corruption in Israel is at unprecedented levels. And the courts are setting new low standards of conduct of politicians.
