13-08-27 Israel: Judidial corruption and women's power
Attorney for the rape victim says there was no tape recording in the rape trial case at all...
The Human Ritghts Alert (NGO) documented through IT system analysis unprecedented corruption of the Israeli courts over the past decade, mimicking the corrupt methods of the state and federal courts in the United States.
Now it is beginning to trickle down as real cases to the public at large.
But the unique phenomenon in Israel is that the fight against judicial corruption is carried by and large by women's organization, and directed against corrupt chauvinist judges, first and foremost.
Last month there was a case of a stupid judge that made some unfortunate sexist remakrs. A female activist/columnist wrote a column and mobilized female power. By the late afternoon he was a retired judge.
Now media describe an even more bizarre case, where a panel of three male judges in the Jerusalem District Court engaged in unreasonable conduct in the case of a 14 year old rape victim.
Women's organizations got on the case.
But the judicial authorities, as usual, see no evil, and dismissed the complaints, purportedly after reviewing the transcript and tape recording of the hearing.
Now female attorney for the rape victim dared (would never happen in the US!) to come out and say that there was no tape recording at the hearing at all!
Perphaps that could be the solution for the US justice system as well?
Not only corrupt female judges in SCOTUS and beyond, but also honest women's organizations taking to the task at hand?

All comments are welcome... especially any tips regarding corruption of the courts in Los Angeles. Anonymous tips are fine. One simple way to do it is from internet cafes, etc.
