One can only guess the US reactions, had this happened in Cuba, Russia. After 40 years of continuous international pressure, the US decided to free a dying man, overturn his conviction... Beyond the abuse, it looks like a deliberate action to demonstrate the arbitrary and despotic use of the justice system. jz
Amy Goodman and Nermeen Shaikh, Democracy Now!: A dying prisoner has been released in Louisiana after serving nearly 42 years in solitary confinement, longer than any other person in the United States. Herman Wallace was released from prison after a federal judge overturned his conviction, saying he did not receive a fair trial.
