2014-08-01 What part of the missile attacks on Tel Aviv is an Israeli hoax? What part of Iron Dome is a bluff?

a) Missiles aimed at the greater Tel-Aviv area

Data published by Haaretz paper edition on August 1, 2014, shows the number of missile "Red Alerts" in various cities, since the beginnin of the current round of hostility.
The Greater Tel Aviv data:

• Tel Aviv-Jaffa - 54
• Holon, Bat-Yam - 53
• Bnei Brak - 47 *
• Givataim - 47 *
• Ramat Gan - 47 *
• Herzlia, Ramat Hasharon - 31

* These three cities may be considered one alarm zone
Combined, the data would lead one to conclude that 100-200 missiles were shot at the greater Tel Aviv area.
b) Iron Dome success rate estimates

• According to Israeli National Security prize winner, a balistics expert, the success rate of Iron Dome is: 0%.  
• According to MIT Prof Tel Postol, a leading world expert in this field, best success rate estimate is: 5-10%.
• Prior to the onset of the current hostilities, IDF officially notice success rate: 84%
• After the onset of the current hostilities, IDF officially notice success rate: 90%

Even according to the best success rate estimate (90%) over 10 missiles should have hit the greater Tel-Aviv area by now. None did.
c) The length of alram/successful intercept period vs time period for entering shelters

• The above map was published almost daily in newspapers.  It shows that in the Tel Aviv area, one has 90 seconds from the start of the alarm to get to a shelter.
• One must assume that a safety margin was built in, and missiles would arrive at Tel Aviv over 90 seconds from the start of the alarm to get to a shelter.
• However, from the beginning of the current round of hostility, the Iron Dome "successful intercepts" over Tel Aviv happen about 70 seconds after the start of the alarm.  In recent days that time was shortened to about 60 seconds.

Based on these time differences, one would conclude that the Iron Dome "successful intercepts" over Tel Aviv, are not aimed at missiles coming from Gaza, if they are aimed at any missiles at all...

Plausible explanation:
Double fraud:
* In the southern part of Israel - heavy rocket barrage, and Iron Dome provide no effective protection.

* In the Tel Aviv area - false alarms and false reports of "successful intercepts".
