2016-02-14 GAZA: IDF suing Breaking the Silence for whistle-blowers' personal information

In recent months, the Israeli gov has conducted a coordinated campaign against Human Rights NGOs. One of the targets is "Breaking the Silence", NGO that specializes in documenting IDF Human Rights violations in Palestine. Now, Haaretz reports that IDF is suing Breaking the Silence to get the personal data of whistle-blowers, who provided testimonies to the NGO. The key issue is testimonies regarding alleged war crimes during the 2014 Gaza massacre.
Past experience shows that such data is eventually used to prosecute the whistle-blowers, not the higher ups...
The litigation is sealed, conducted behind closed doors - standard Israeli procedure, regarding any litigation that may embarrass the regime...
