Archiving corruption of the justice system in the United States and reform efforts - Judge by Judge, Court by Court

Human Rights Alert (NGO) calls upon those with reliable information to contribute to the efforts to document both judicial corruption and the growing efforts for reform of the judiciary in the United States.

Los Angeles, March 9 - in view of the hundreds of web sites which have sprung in recent years in the United States from coast to coast, protesting court corruption, [[i]] and likewise web sites calling for judicial reform, [[ii],[iii]] the need arises for documenting  and archiving these growing efforts. Moreover, the many sites provide redundant information, and vary greatly in accuracy and reliability.

Wikipedia, which was proposed by some as the venue for such project, is notorious for being edited by US government and large corporate interests, and has a track record of deleting references to judicial corruption and Human Rights violations in the United States. [[iv]]

Judgepedia, a web site which is built on the same platform as Wikipedia, but is edited by named individuals, in contrast with Wikipedia, appears as the current home for such archiving efforts.  The site benefits from professional editing, and requires documentary evidence, mostly from print media.

Judgepedia was sponsored until mid-2009 by the Sam Adams Alliance, [[v]] a non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, which supports groups and individuals "who are working to defend liberty, hold the government accountable, and make real political change at the local level". At present it is sponsored by the Lucy Burns Institute, [[vi]] a non-profit organization based in Madison, Wisconsin, named after Lucy Burns (1879-1966) was an American suffragist. [[vii]] The Institute believe[s] in the power of information to transform lives and politics, and is dedicated to fairness and openness in politics.

Judgepedia is organized as pages for individual courts, both state and federal, and for individual judges.

Efforts have been initiated to complement the scant official data on each of the courts and judges with evidence of either corruption, [[viii]] or calls for reform by judges themselves. [[ix]]

In parallel, a proposal was filed with the site editors, to initiate special pages for documenting the growing efforts for judicial reform in the United States.

Human Rights Alert (NGO) calls upon those who are ready, willing, able to contribute to the efforts to document both judicial corruption and the growing movement for judicial reform in the United States.

In brig, WikiLeaks suspect Bradley Manning ordered to sleep without clothing

Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, March 5, 2011; 10:02 PM
Military jailers are forcing Bradley Manning, the 23-year-old soldier accused of passing classified documents to WikiLeaks.org, to strip naked in his cell at night and sleep without clothing, a requirement his lawyer says was imposed after Manning made a "sarcastic quip" about his confinement.
