One of the key persons in the Israel Police criminal investigation report of the Harpaz document scandal, now before the Attorney General, is then IDF Chief Prosecutor, today Israel cabinet Secretary Mandelblit.
Today, the Quality Government Association called upon Bibi to suspend Mandelblit. The Association says:
"The cabinet secretary is a very senior position, and it is essential that the person holding that position not have above him the cloud of suspected criminal offences, related to undermining the Rule of Law and public service." [1]
Exciting!
It should be recalled that part of the duties and obligations of the cabinet secretary is the custody of cabinet records and safeguard of their integrity. And the Harpaz document scandal originates in the forgery and distribution of a document, in an affair that was described by media as then IDF Chief of Staff Ashkenazi "coup attempt"...
What is not clear at all, is why the Quality Government wakes up only now...

Dedicated Public Housing funds were nixed. The measures were described as no choice situation. A few months later it turned out that the Treasury Minister kept a "Secret Reserve" of billions of NIS...
In a civilized state, Lapid and his senior staff would have been prosecuted for fraud, and Mandelblit would have been summarily fired...
