13-09-05 Obama's Syria foreign policy coup - an anti-American front from Beijing through Moscow to the Vatican!

While Putin enjoys ridiculing the US in general, and the Obama administration in particular, China is more reserved, but gets straight to the point: The US gov is again going to cause major manipulation of oil prices and deepen the world economic crisis.  In short - the war in Iraq redux.
Regardless, the Obama regime has already  managed an unprecedented foreign policy coup: An unprecedented anti-American front stretching from Beijing through Moscow to the Vatican!
And US media continue their lame reporting.  jz

Syria crisis: China joins Russia in opposing military strikes

Chinese intervention comes as leaders gather for G20 summit hosted by Vladimir Putin, who has threatened to send a missile shield to Syria if US launches attack without UN backing
China has joined Russia in opposing military strikes on Syria, saying it would push up oil prices and create an economic downturn.
The Chinese intervention came as G20 leaders gathered in Saint Petersburg on Thursday for a summit likely to be dominated by Syria. The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, is expected to allow the issue on to the agenda for dinner, reflecting the reality that the fate of the world economy is inextricably intertwined with the risk of a Middle East conflagration.

US Hits Back at Putin 'Liar' Comment About Kerry

The State Department is hitting back at what it calls false accusations that Russian President Vladimir Putin made about Secretary of State John Kerry.
The Russian president accuses Kerry of lying about the extent of al-Qaida operatives in Syria.
Jen Psaki (SAH'-kee) is a department spokeswoman. She says Kerry is a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam war and has had more than words aimed at him.
Psaki says Kerry is not losing sleep because of Putin's quote preposterous comment that was based on an inaccurate rendering of what Kerry said.
Putin said Wednesday that Kerry lied about al-Qaida in Syria, after Kerry told Congress the Syrian opposition was becoming more moderate.
USA TODAY
Things aren't exactly warming up between the Obama administration and Vladimir Putin, even as President Obama arrived in St. Petersburg for the G-20 summit.

Putin called Obama Secretary of State John Kerry a liar over Kerry's testimony this week before Congress.

The question may be al-Qaeda's influence on the Syrian rebels, an issue Kerry has downplayed...

Vanity Fair
President of Men Vladimir Putin told a number of his advisers that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is a liar. Specifically, Putin said: “This was very unpleasant and surprising for me. We talk to them (the Americans) and we assume they are decent people, but he is lying and he knows that he is lying. This is sad.” It is, according to CBS News, “unclear exactly what Putin was referencing.”
CBS News guesses that the comment may have had something to do with Kerry’s statement on Tuesday that the Syrian opposition (the people the U.S. wants to . . . fight? No—help . . . help . . . for now) does not consist of al-Qaeda-associated religious extremists. According to Kerry, our friends-to-be, the anti–Bashar Assad Syrian opposition, is “increasingly become more defined by its moderation.”
