13-07-31 US - the next generation

I met yesterday in Jerusalem a young American, a senior in a major US univeristy. He majors in physics with two minors in the humanities. Will probably continue to advanced degrees on a full scholarship.
Snowden, Assange, Manning... He barely follows the news.
His mother watches Fox news, which he considers a propaganda tool.
His view of the situation: The only way to survive is to lay low and shut up.
