From climate justice, to Palestinian solidarity, to anti-gentrification, artists are using a diversity of tactics at the cutting edges of radical politics in the US. Art is not just a decorative addition to the real business of organizing. Theory, research, tactics, strategy, aesthetics, media, analysis, debriefing, learning, questioning...it is all part of an expanded idea of what art can be and do in the world. We are reclaiming creativity, beauty, and indeed freedom itself from the ultra-luxury cultural institutions of the 1%.
