It should be remembered that the German constitution, enforced by the US after WWII, prohibits the German military from deploying outside Germany. However, the German government joined the failed US-led adventure in Afghanistan in violation of its own constitution. However, former German President was forced to resign after public uproar, when he justiified the German involvement in Afghanistan in Garman economic interests....
Under the current circumstances, a German general was appointed a couple of weeks ago for the first time ever as the commander of all NATO forces in Europe, including US forces...
