The linked post is by Attorney David Levy (whom I happened to meet a couple of times - it's a small country). The guy is a shady character. One can say that he used to be part of the gang... used to collect for the Tax Authority - one of the State agencies, which is notorious for its corruption. However, at some point there was a falling apart, and indictment was filed against him for embezzling NIS 17 millions. However, that prosecution is handled in a bit of a funny way, based on detailed following of the case.
Over the past 1-2 months, he assumed a totally new role - a key knowledgeable person in various investigations against Bibi,
Here he claims that his blog readership has soared to 200,000 per day!
His main claims in the post dated July 17, 2016:
a) The investigation has expanded, and in fact there is good evidence that Bibi was running an international organized crime organization. That is not entirely surprising, since it is clear that he was involved with criminals in France and the US.
b) Former AG Weinstein was part of the organization.
That is not entirely surprising either. Weinstein was the first ever AG who dropped into the job from private practice, and had conflicts of interests, where he had served as criminal defense attorney for individuals who were involved in corruption.
c) Key inside person entered a protection program.
We know also from other sources that there is a serious inside source in this investigation. Levy here says that the source brought detailed information about fund transfers, amounts, etc.
d) Most important - Levy claims that top law enforcement persons, who were recent Bibi's personal appointees are performing their jobs, which is what is most surprising in the story: Specifically - AG Mandelblit and Police Chief Alshech (no word on the Shin-Bet... )
Bibi on his part appeared yesterday in the Knesset and announced that it is all hot air, and don't buy new suits yet... :) His survival skills shouldn't be underestimated!
One should recall the US Ambassador 2009 report from Tel-Aviv (published by Wikileaks) "Israel: Promised land for organized crime?" The report describes the merger of State agencies and organized crime. My take on it for years: It grossly underestimated the depth of the corruption, particularly relative to the justice system.
