One of the key characteristics of totalitarian regimes is suppression of political expression.
Today, distinction is made between "Hard Totalitarian Regime" - where those who express opposition to the regime are murdered or disappeared, etc (e.g., the military dictatorships in Argentina and Chile, the recent murder of 43 student activists in Mexico), and "Soft Totalitarian Regimes" - where suppression of political expression does not include such extreme violent acts.
In such context, one should view the bogus police prosecution (in Israel police prosecutes!) against Rafi Rotem (Tax Authority whistle-blower), Barak Cohen (anti-bankster activist), Dafni Leef (social protest leader) and many others, and the ongoing spying on social protest activists by the Israel Police as clear evidence that Israel within the 1967 borders is today a "Soft Totalitarian Regime".
The suppression of political expression is executed by the Israel Police through bogus criminal proscution on "assaulting police" and "insulting police".
The corrupt courts provide the color of law.

אחד המאפיינים הבולטים של משטר טוטליטרי הוא דיכוי חופש ההבעה הפוליטית.
בהקשר זה, מבחינים היום בין "משטר טוטליטרי קשה" - בו אלה המביעים התנגדות למשטר נרצחים, נעלמים, וכו' ׁׁׁ(לדוגמה - הדיקטטורות הצבאיות בארגנטינה, צ'ילה, ורצח 43 הסטודנטים הפעילים במקסיקו לאחרונה), לבין "משטר טוטליטרי רך" - בו דיכוי חופש ההבעה הפוליטית אינו כולל אלימות קיצונית ברמה זאת.
בהקשר זה, יש לראות את התביעות המשטרתיות המופרכות נגד רפי רותם, ברק כהן, דפני ליף, ורבים אחרים על "תקיפת שוטרים" ו"העלבת אנשי ציבור", וריגול קבוע על ידי משטרת ישראל אחרי פעילי מחאה כראיות לכך שישראל בגבולות 1967 היא היום למעשה משטר טוטליטרי רך.
דיכוי חופש ההבעה הפוליטית מתנהל על ידי משטרת ישראל על ידי תביעות פליליות מופרכות על "תקיפת שוטרים" ו"העלבת אנשי ציבור".
