Tariq Ramadan - a different Moslem voice - grandson of the founder of the Moslem Brotherhood in Egypt, son of a senior leader of the organization, who was exiled under Naser, Tariq grew up in Switzerland and was educated in Switzerland and Sweden. Today Prof of Islam in Geneva and Oxford.
The item is of interest, for various reasons:
a) The subject of the lecture is relatively sophisticated. 
b) It takes place in Qatar, at a time that a coalition of US-Israel-Egypt-Saudia, which employs a powerful Washington DC lobbying firm is working hard on painting Qatar as a reactionary terror center.
c) It should be noted that Ramadan is barred from the US, Egypt, Saudia, and that Qatar is also the home of Al Jazeera, an operation that surely couldn't exist in Egypt or Saudia.
In short: A more objective assessment of the situation is that Qatar is a relatively progressive regime in the Moslem world, while the US and Israel are aligned with some of the more reactionary regimes in the region...
