Students pepper-sprayed at Santa Monica College protest [Updated]

About 100 students protesting a plan to offer high-priced courses at Santa Monica College this summer tried to storm into a meeting of the college's Board of Trustees on Tuesday evening.

A handful of protesters suffered minor injuries as campus police tried to prevent dozens of students chanting, "Let us in, let us in" and "No cuts, no fees, education should be free," from disrupting the meeting during a public comment period.

[Updated, 10:06 p.m.: Campus police confirmed late Tuesday that two people suffering the effects of pepper spray were taken to a hospital. It was unclear if they were students.]

Several were also overcome when pepper spray was released just outside the meeting room as officers tried to break up the crowd. Police are investigating the circumstances of when the pepper spray was used and by whom.

Cameron Espinoza was outside the board meeting in the back of the crowd when she heard screams. "I saw all these students rushing and they were crying," said Espinoza, 19, who is director of outreach for the student government. "I couldn't stop coughing."

No arrests were made.

The meeting room was cleared and trustees adjourned to another room. Santa Monica police were called in to secure the perimeter of the building.

President Chui Tsang said the small boardroom wasn't able to accommodate all of the students who wanted to speak and that an adjacent room had been provided for the overflow.

"We expected some students, but we didn't expect that big of a crowd with such enthusiasm," Tsang said.

[Updated, 10:06 p.m.: When the meeting resumed, most of the students were allowed to address trustees from an adjoining room. Many urged the board to find other solutions to maintain access.

"This is a Band-Aid on a gushing wound and will not be a sustainable solution," said Parker Jean, 19, a political science major.

Board Chair Margaret Quinones-Perez announced at the end of the comment period that the college would pay medical bills for any students who suffered injuries during the disturbance.]

We were expecting this. Our people-powered campaigning has been fearless, and we've taken on the world's worst actors head-on, in ways that genuinely hurt them - from the Syrian and Chinese regimes to Rupert Murdoch, Big Oil and organized crime. One must wonder, how many of the marchers knew, given the scant media coverage, that 1999, the King family finally won a civil trial, implicating the US government in the assassination of Dr King, Jr. [1] The US government continues to refuse to criminally prosecute the perpetrators.

CHICAGO (CBS) ­ As concerns about security grow in the run-up to the NATO summit, it’s becoming difficult to separate myth from reality.

Are there plans in place for a mass evacuation of downtown in the event of riots on May 20-21? A Red Cross memo out of Milwaukee indicates that there is.

Officials there have been asked to make plans to assist residents in the event of a mass exodus.

Chicago officials say the plan didn’t come from them. The U.S. Secret Service isn’t talking.

There also are reports that a heavily armed security team will start making a very public appearance around federal buildings in the Loop this week. Officials with the Chicago NATO host committee were completely in the dark. They had no reports of any such plans.

A source told CBS 2 that security forces in full battle gear would not be seen this week.

As for the Red Cross plan, CBS 2 News has obtained a copy of an e-mail sent to volunteers in the Milwaukee area.

It said the NATO summit “may create unrest or another national security incident. The American Red Cross in southeastern Wisconsin has been asked to place a number of shelters on standby in the event of evacuation of Chicago.”

According to a chapter spokesperson, the evacuation plan is not theirs alone.

“Our direction has come from the City of Chicago and the Secret Service,” she said.

Officials at Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communication said the directive did not come from them.

The U.S. Secret Service did not return calls for comment.

'Fusion Centers' Expand Criteria to Identify Militia Members

If you're an anti-abortion activist, or if you display political paraphernalia supporting a third-party candidate or a certain Republican member of Congress, if you possess subversive literature, you very well might be a member of a domestic paramilitary group.

That's according to "The Modern Militia Movement," a report by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC), a government collective that identifies the warning signs of potential domestic terrorists for law enforcement communities.

"Due to the current economical and political situation, a lush environment for militia activity has been created," the Feb. 20 report reads. "Unemployment rates are high, as well as costs of living expenses. Additionally, President Elect Barrack [sic] Obama is seen as tight on gun control and many extremists fear that he will enact firearms confiscations."

MIAC is one of 58 so-called "fusion centers" nationwide that were created by the Department of Homeland Security, in part, to collect local intelligence that authorities can use to combat terrorism and related criminal activities. More than $254 million from fiscal years 2004-2007 went to state and local governments to support the fusion centers, according to the DHS Web site.

During a press conference last week in Kansas City, Mo., DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano called fusion centers the "centerpiece of state, local, federal intelligence-sharing" in the future.


"Let us not forget the reason we are here, the reason we have the Department of Homeland Security and the reason we now have fusion centers, which is a relatively new concept, is because we did not have the capacity as a country to connect the dots on isolated bits of intelligence prior to 9/11," Napolitano said, according to a DHS transcript.

"That's why we started this.... Now we know that it's not just the 9/11-type incidents but many, many other types of incidents that we can benefit from having fusion centers that share information and product and analysis upwards and horizontally."

But some say the fusion centers are going too far in whom they identify as potential threats to American security.

People who supported former third-party presidential candidates like Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin and former Georgia Rep. Bob Barr are cited in the report, in addition to anti-abortion activists and conspiracy theorists who believe the United States, Mexico and Canada will someday form a North American Union.

"Militia members most commonly associate with 3rd party political groups," the report reads. "It is not uncommon for militia members to display Constitutional Party, Campaign for Liberty or Libertarian material."

Other potential signals of militia involvement, according to the report, are possession of the Gagsden "Don't Tread on Me" flag or the widely available anti-income tax film "America: Freedom to Fascism."

Barr, the 2008 Libertarian Party presidential nominee, told FOXNews.com that he's taking steps to get his name removed from the report, which he said could actually "dilute the effectiveness" of law enforcement agencies.

"It can subject people to unwarranted and inappropriate monitoring by the government," he said. "If I were the governor of Missouri, I'd be concerned that law enforcement agencies are wasting their time and effort on such nonsense."

Barr said his office has received "several dozen" complaints related to the report.

Mary Starrett, communications director for the Constitution Party, said Baldwin, the party's 2008 presidential candidate, was "outraged" that his name was included in the report.

"We were so astounded by it we couldn't believe it was real," Starrett told FOXNews.com. "It's painting such a large number of people with a broad brush in a dangerous light."

Michael German, national security policy counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union, said the report "crosses the line" and shows a disregard for civil liberties.

"It seems to implicate people who are engaging in First Amendment protected activities and suggest that something as innocuous as supporting a political candidate for office would mean that you're harboring some ill-intent," German told FOXNews.com. "It's completely inappropriate."

German, who claims the number of fusion centers nationwide is closer to 70, said the centers present several troubling concerns, including their excessive secrecy, ambiguous lines of authority, the use of data mining and military participation.

"No two are alike," German said. "And these things are expanding rapidly."

But MIAC officials defended their report, saying it's not a basis for officers to take enforcement action.

"These reports sometimes mention groups or individuals who are not the subject of the document, but may be relevant to describing tendencies or trends concerning the subject of the document," MIAC said in a statement.

"For example, a criminal group may use a particular wire service to transfer funds, but the mention of that wire service does not imply that it is part of that group, or a criminal enterprise.

Nor does it imply that all individuals who use that service are engaged in criminal activity."
The statement continues, "We are concerned about the mischaracterizations of a document following its recent unauthorized release and we regret that any citizens were unintentionally offended by the content of the document."

Donny Ferguson, a spokesman for the Libertarian Party, said he was concerned by the report's "poor choice of words," among other things.

"Unfortunately it is so broadly worded it could be interpreted as saying millions of peaceful, law-abiding Americans are involved in dangerous activities. These mistakes happen and we hope Missouri officials will correct the report," Ferguson wrote in an e-mail. "The Libertarian Party promotes the common-sense policies of fiscal responsibility and social tolerance. We are the only party in America who makes opposition to initiating violence a condition of membership."

Bob McCarty, a St. Louis resident who blogged about the MIAC report, said he's afraid he may be targeted, since he's previously sold Ron Paul-related merchandise.

"[The report] described me, so maybe I need to get a gun and build a shack out in the woods," McCarty said facetiously. "It's certainly an attempt to stifle political thought, especially in Missouri. It definitely makes me pause, if nothing else. Maybe Missouri is just a test bed for squelching political thought."

ACLU officials blasted a Texas fusion center last month for distributing a "Prevention Awareness Bulletin" that called on law enforcement officers to report activities of local lobbying groups, Muslim civil rights organizations and anti-war protest groups.

AllegationsConditions, now prevailing in the electronic record systems of the national courts of the State of Israel, are in violations of any article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, where integrity of the courts and the justice system is a prerequisite, as is the rule of law.  Conditions, which have been established over the past decade should be deemed a simulated justice system, reflecting corruption of the courts, the Ministry of Justice, and the legal profession.
Similarities and differences compared to United States systemsThe systems of the courts of the State of Israel, were developed and implemented with help from US-based corporations IBM and EDS.  According to the 2010 State Ombudsman's Report 60b, the development and implementation of the systems was conducted in violation of various State laws and regulations.

WASHINGTON – At a time when states are struggling to reduce bloated prison populations and tight budgets, a private prison management company is offering to buy prisons in exchange for various considerations, including a controversial guarantee that the governments maintain a 90% occupancy rate for at least 20 years.

The $250 million proposal, circulated by the Nashville-based Corrections Corporation of America to prison officials in 48 states, has been blasted by some state officials who suggest such a program could pressure criminal justice officials to seek harsher sentences to maintain the contractually required occupancy rates.

"You don't want a prison system operating with the goal of maximizing profits," says Texas state Sen. John Whitmire, a Houston Democrat and advocate for reducing prison populations through less costly diversion programs. "The only thing worse is that this seeks to take advantage of some states' troubled financial position."

High visibility cases, such as in the press release below are used as a means to document the scope of the corruption of governments, and to educate the public of the nature of the justice systems in the respective nations.

What is the diagnosis?

• Any nation, including, but no limited to the United States and Israel (which foolishly mimicked the conduct of the US courts, with help from US corporations), where the judges have adopted the custom of publishing simulated electronic decisions and conducting simulated litigation, is effectively under a tyranny of the courts.
• In both the United States and Israel, such developments were directly linked to the implementation of fraudulent electronic record systems in the courts by the courts themselves, with no public oversight.
• No court should be permitted to implement its own electronic record system, since such systems effectively amount to new regulations of the courts (a point that is more clearly documented in the case of the Israeli courts, below).
• Eventually, banks will take over such nations, since by their nature, judges and attorneys like the beautiful eyes of the bankers.

What are the proposed remedies?

• Examination and repair of the fraudulent electronic record systems of the courts, under accountability to the legislature of the respective nations.
• Establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commissions, since in such nations the judiciary and the legal profession as a class undermined the rule of law and violated their oaths of loyalty to the laws of the respective nations.

The diagnosis is not palatable, and the remedies are painful.  Most writers here offer cosmetics, where emergency surgery is necessary to rescue nations under tyranny.

Why should any US citizen or any citizen of another nation care about the conduct of the courts of the State of Israel?

• It may be easier to see through and accept the fraud in the conduct of the courts and the legal profession, relative to the electronic record systems of the courts, when it does not pertain to the courts of your own nation...

Why?  On what basis?  Do you agree with the Supreme Court?  Why?  Why does their opinion matter to anybody, and why should it?  Explain why you hold your opinion.   Justify it somehow. S P E L L it out.

Israeli media expressed surprise at the government's intention to disobey a "final" Supreme Court decision, purportedly entered a year ago, which required the demolition by May 1, 2012, of a settlement, unlawfully constructed on Palestinian land.  However, the evidence shows that for a full decade, since the implementation of a new electronic record system in the Supreme Court, there are no "final", entered decisions of the Supreme Court.  All decisions are 'subject to changes', and the Chief Clerk of the Supreme Court refuses to certify any of the Court's decisions. In March 2002, a simulated justice system was established in the State of Israel by the Supreme Court itself.    

Supreme Court of the State of Israel. Prior to 2002, all electronic records were certified by the late Chief Clerk, "True copy of the original". Today, all records are noted as 'subject to changes'. The Beit El's Ulpana, unlawfully constructed on Palestinian land.
