This week, Israel Police decided not to permit the conduct of a routine Saturday night vigil against the Gaza massacre. Police ordered to demonstrators to disperse and declared the vigil "illegal gathering", then engaged in brutality, arrested 14 demonsrators.
This morning Israel Police claims that the order to disprese last night was derived from concern for the demonstrators' security, and a standing order against gathering larger than 1,000 persons in open spaces during the current round of hostility.
However, the demonstrators were far from 1,000, and earlier that day there was in the same place public activity for kids with a similar size crowd.

Last nigh Israel Police decided to prevent a small lawful demontration against the Gaza massacre.
Demonstrators were ordered to disperse, and when they refused, police employed brutality.
Walla legal affairs reporter Gali Ginat was covering the event. A plain clothed poilceman approaced her and asked her to stop recording and leave the place. Ginat did not respond. Then, the policeman started pushing her, and eventually arrested her for "attacking a policeman".
Police used force to take her recording devise, while fully knowing that she was a reporter. She was interrogated and released after 5 hours "under restrictive stipulations".
Police comments on this news item was requested but not yet received.

כתבת המשפט של וואלה! חדשות גלי גינת נעצרה אמש (שבת) ועוכבה לחקירה במסגרת הפגנת השמאל שנערכה בכיכר הבימה, אותה סיקרה עבור וואלה!.

גינת הגיעה בשעה 20.00 לאזור הכיכר שם כבר שהו מאות בודדות של מפגינים. זמן קצר לאחר מכן, שוטרי יס"מ של מחוז מרכז תל אביב בפיקודו של ניצב בנצי סאו החלו בפיזור מאסיבי של ההפגנה כשהם דוחפים את המפגינים לרחוב תרס"ט הסמוך. לדברי גינת, חמישה שוטרים החזיקו באחת המפגינות בחוזקה, תפסו אותה מהידיים והרגליים בעוד היא צורחת מכאבים ואינה מראה התנגדות.

גינת צילמה במכשירה הנייד את האירוע, כאשר בשלב מסוים התקרב אליה שוטר בלבוש אזרחי וביקש ממנה לעזוב את המקום ולהפסיק לצלם. גינת לא השיבה וכפי שניתן לראות בסרטון, הוא בתגובה החל לדחוף אותה בגופו. לאחר חילופי דברים, עצר אותה השוטר בחשד ל"תקיפת שוטר".

לאחר מכן החרימו לה השוטרים את הנייד, סירבו להחזירו, ומחקו משם קבצים. לדברי גינת, כחמישה שוטרים נאבקו על מנת לקחת לה את המכשיר מהידיים, בעת שהם ידעו שמדובר בכתבת שלא השתתפה בהפגנה אלא סיקרה אותה. גינת נלקחה לחקירה ושוחררה בתנאים מגבילים לאחר 5 שעות.

טרם התקבלה תגובת המשטרה לדברים.
