Denise Lind allowed prosecutors to expand their rebuttal case, making way for unsupported accusations against PFC Bradley Manning. In a cynical move, the government prosecution recalled former Specialist Jihrleah Showman, a supervisor against whom Manning had filed an Equal Opportunity complaint. Following Manning’s complaint, Showman was admonished for her use of homophobic language in conversation and workplace signage. In the years since, she has vied for media appearances, augmented by her own vitriolic Tweets, attacking Manning as well as his supporters. Now, at the eleventh hour, she claims to recall a conversation with the 25-year-old army private in which he allegedly shared anti-American opinions.

Which has been my fundamental claim in recent years: Under the Bush II/Obama regime, the US governemnt has asserted its right to deprive of life, liberty, and property of the People with no due process of law (separate discussion rooms were opened for the quetsion:What is "due process", and What is "is"). With it, the issues of other violations of the US law, or of the US Constitution, should be deemed only a distraction, focusing on legal rights that have been established over less than 300 years. The regression in the US over the past decade or two stretches back closer to the time of the Magna Carta ("the cornerstone of the US Constitution", according to Justice Brennan, Jr), some 800 years ago, when protection aginst such deprivation of life, liberty, property by the king was established.

The story of how a Milan CIA station chief became a fugitive, now caught in Panama

When Robert Seldon Lady first arrived in Milan, Italy’s fashion and business hub, he was officially listed as an employee of the U.S. State Department with the title of deputy consul. In fact, he was the head of the CIA’s Milan station. That was 2000. Within a few years, Lady would become an international fugitive on the run from Italian police; he would go from a highly respected CIA officer to, for many in Europe, a symbol of everything that was wrong with the United States’ war on terror and a means to publicly pressure the Bush administration.
On Thursday, Lady was detained in Panama, possibly to answer for the Italian extradition charges that have stood against him for years. The story of Lady’s journey over the past decade is controversial, disputed and full of holes. But it is a fascinating episode from a complicated period in U.S. foreign policy – one that, as his recent detention reminds us, isn’t so long ago as we might think.

The widening of the spiral of fear and increasing demand for 'protection' creates an international protection racket cartel, indistinguishable only in that they call themselves 'legal', from organized criminal gangs.
UK security firms Serco and G4S, are described as ‘indispensable’ to Britain's criminal justice system, have been overcharging the government by 'tens of millions of pounds' for criminals who had long finished their sentences or been dead for years.
How many kicks in the teeth, or near misses, can this British Government endure before it sees 21st Century 'terrorism' for what it is? An organized assault on our collective peace and safety with the purpose of spawning real terrorist cells.
Profit led policing
On Thursday 11th July 2013 Conservative Justice Secretary Chris Grayling delivered a progress report to the House of Commons on the privatization of UK Criminal Justice. His voice was trembling as though he himself could neither believe nor bear the consequences of what he was reading.
Two firms, he explained, Serco and G4S, have been overcharging the government by 'tens of millions of pounds' for electronic tagging of offenders, continuing to charge the taxpayer for criminals who had long finished their sentences and some who had been dead for years.
The same week a London inquest jury delivered its verdict that Angolan deportee Jimmy Mubenga was unlawfully killed while being restrained by G4S guards. His plane was waiting to take off at London's Heathrow airport when he died and a series of racist SMS texts were also found on the G4S guards' phones.
Founded in 2004 G4S employs over 600,000 people in 125 countries with revenue of £7.5bn, making it the world's largest security company. Despite its size G4S appears to have little regard for international law, taking on private prison work in Palestine/Israel which is alleged to contravene Article 76 of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Transporting prisoners from the occupied territory into the country of the occupier.
Serco and G4S are now so deep into Britain's criminal justice system the Guardian recently described them as 'indispensable'. Serco manage six prisons including Oakwood 'super-jail' and two immigration removal centres. G4S manage police custody cells, a 999 emergency response service, county control room, police station and court facilities.

13-07-18 ‘THEY FLY IN TOWN, THEY GET SHOT DOWN’: COLORADO TOWN CONSIDERS DRONE-HUNTING LICENSES AND REWARDS
DEER TRAIL, Colo. (TheBlaze/AP) — The next potential target for hunters in one Colorado town might be flying with or above the birds — well above the birds.
Leaders in the town of Deer Trail, which has a population around 550 people, are considering an ordinance that would create aerial drone hunting licenses and offer bounties to anyone who shoots one down.

“We do not want drones in town,” resident Phillip Steel, who drafted the ordinance told KMGH-TV. “They fly in town, they get shot down.”

Formed in 2010 in response to the coalition government’s spending cuts, UK Uncut have sparked a series of remarkable and creative protests which have helped force the issue of corporate tax avoidance into a mainstream media that is normally more preoccupied with whipping up hysteria about the far smaller amounts lost to benefit fraud amongst the UK’s most destitute. Benefit fraud stands at £1.2 billion a year, but this is dwarfed by not only the £16 billion that goes unclaimed in benefits, but also the £25 billion that is lost each year in unpaid tax by big businesses. These are facts and figures that now trip of the tongue of an increasingly economically- and politically-savvy public, and this is in no small part thanks to awareness-raising activities of groups such as UK Uncut.

He’s reputed to be exceptionally dangerous and violent—he's known to burn his enemies alive in 55-gallon drums. The Zetas have spread terror through Mexico in the brutal drug war as they’ve made their name displaying bodies of their murdered victims throughout the country. Trevino Morales’s capture is thought to be the first major blow against organized crime by President Enrique Peña Nieto, whose campaign promised to drive down crime figures.
