אתמול יצאו פעילי/ות המרפאה הניידת של רופאים לזכויות אדם ליום רפואי בעיירה טמון שבנפת טובאס. בטמון מתגוררים כ-15,000 תושבים המתפרנסים בעיקר מחקלאות. בשל מגבלות הצבא על גישה למקורות מים, סובלים החקלאים מתשלומים גבוהים על קניית מים ואחוזי האבטלה גוברים.
בעיה קשה נוספת ממנה סובלים תושבי האיזור היא השלכות אימוני הצבא. רוב אדמות העיירה נמצאות בשטח C, ומשמשות את הצבא לאימונים. רבים מתושבי האזור איבדו את חייהם, ולחלקם נקטעו איברים, לאחר שהצבא השאיר נפלים ותחמושת בשטח. בעיירה פועלת מרפאה ממשלתית קטנה המאויישת ברופא משפחה אחד, ואין בה רופאים מומחים.
ביום הרפואי בטמון בדקנו למעלה מ-300 חולים וחולות - 66 מתוכם בתחום רפואת העיניים ו-50 בתחום רפואת הילדים.
