2013-01-14 It ain't easy to break the bonds of the plantation...

Whatever took place today in the consular compound in Jerusalem, Jerusalem, with "Consul" Kirk G Smith, is unlikely to have beeb an honest  administration of the oath of renunciation of US citizenship, for which the consular compound charged a total of $600.00.

1) INTRO - ON THE DISCUSSION BOARD
Well, well, well...

On its face the situation is murky. What else could one expect in dealing with the United States government?  The novelty here was in the conduct of paper-based apparent fraud through the issuance of suspect simulated United States records, not the typical equivalent in electronic records.  I say "suspect", giving it the benefit of the doubt.  However, I will call, email, fax tomorrow, and ask for correction of defective records, see what the response would be, and take it from there.

Let's ask the legal experts for an explanation of this sequence of events, which is consistent with honest conduct.

I will post the completed and signed forms, and the ones that were not signed by tomorrow.

JZ:

So sorry to hear that.  However, I can understand your sentiments when considering how our citizenship is devalued on a a daily basis and given away by our government like a discount coupon, and that you have truly fought government tyranny here.

Re the photo, what exactly are you holding in your hand?  If appears to possibly be a video box, but I could not make out the print/picuture other than a faint eagle image.  Further, where is the photo being taekn?  It appears to be the ground floor of maybe an apartment building and the cylinder objects to your left may be water heaters?

Like the beard, and I saw on the news it snowed over in Israel in some parts.  Did you get any where you are?

Again, sorry you have to make that decision.

Keep fight'n the good fight.  GLZ.

SEQUENCE OF EVENTS
JANUARY 14, 2013, SCHEDULED APPEARANCE BEFORE KIRK G SMITH, CONSUL OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, JERUSALEM, JERUSALEM, FOR RENUNCIATION OF CITIZENSHIP:
1) As was the case last week, Kirk Smith, Consul of the United States, scheduled to see me at 2:00pm, outside of normal operations hours. [possibly off the consular calendar]

2) I came with all papers prepared, as I found online, since the consular staff would not answer on my requests for information.
3) Consul Kirk G Smith administered the oath, I signed it, and he signed it with a stamp of the consulate.  However, the administration of the oath was NOT in the presence of two witnesses, and NO attestation was provided, even after I alerted the Consul to the issues. As indicated below, seals were no embossed in any of the designated spaces.

a) I paid the fee of $450.00 for the Renunciation of Citizenship, for which I hold a receipt, and then had the following forms signed:
i) Oath of Affirmation of Renunciation of Nationality of the United States.  Signed under oath by Joseph Zernik, subscribed and sworn/affirmed before Kirk G Smith, Consul of the United States of America, and certified on the back by  Kirk G Smith, Consul of the United States of America, with the Seal of the Consulate of the United States of America in Jerusalem, Jerusalem.  However, NO Seal was embossed in the designated space on the face of the document.
ii) Statement of Understanding, signed by Joseph Zernik, attested by Kirk G Smith, Consul of the United States of America, and certified on the back by  Kirk G Smith, Consul of the United States of America, with the Seal of the Consulate of the United States of America in Jerusalem, Jerusalem.  However, NO Seal was embossed in the designated space on the face of the document.
iii) Request for Determination of Possible Loss of United States Citizenship, subscribed and sworn by Joseph Zernik, co-signed by Kirk G Smith, Consul of the United States. However, NO Seal was embossed in the designated space on the face of the document.
In Part II of the same form: Statement of Voluntary Relinquishment of US Citizenship, subscribed and sworn by Joseph Zernik, co-signed by Kirk G Smith, Consul of the United States. However, NO Seal was embossed in the designated space on the face of the document.

b) The following forms, the Consul refused to have signed:

i) Witnesses' Attestation Renunciation/Relinquishment of Citizenship
ii) Certificate of Loss of Nationality of the United States [This form is prescribed by the secretary of state pursuant to Section 501 of the Act of October 14, 1940 (54 Stat. 1171) and Section 358 of the Act of June 27, 1952 (65 Stat 272) ]

4) My United States passport was taken by the consulate staff.

5) I then explicitly asked that the documents be certified by the appropriate member of the consulate personnel, such as clerk, or custodian of records.  However, Chief Consul Kirk Smith, who signed the documents with no witnesses, was also the one who certified them as "True Copy of the Original".  The sum of $150.00 was collected for the certification service, for which I hold a receipt.

3) BACK TO BENGHAZI, PAKISTAN, AND AFGHANISTAN:
The whole act appears closer and closer to conduct in Benghazi and Afghanistan.  One should recall that the compound that I went to today is build in the noman's land between the former east and west jerusalem, and as the seal of the consulate states, it resides in "Jerusalem, Jerusalem".  The officer in question may or may not be on assignement in any nation or consulate of the United States, whatsoever.

I tried to search for "Consul Kirk G Smith", regarding his appointment. One would assume that some public registry or mention exists of senior officers of the Department of State.

5) WHAT IS THE NATURE OF THE "CONSULATE" COMPOUND IN JERUSALEM, JERUSALEM???

It was deliberately built in the no man's land of the 1947 lines.  It is listed as the consulate in Jerusalem, Jerusalem. So are these "consular" officers assigned to any nation at all?

It appears to me that given its peculiar legal status, this compound could be a great location for a small "black hole", GITMO style prison...

Notice the contradiction between Wikipedia, a US government organ, which states that the consulate is in "Jerusalem, Israel", and the official seal of the consulate, which states "Jerusalem, Jerusalem".

Consulate General of the United States, Jerusalem

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Consulate General of the United States, Jerusalem is a United States diplomatic mission in Jerusalem, Israel. The consulate is an independent mission that serves Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.[3] It is one of the two consulates general (other one being Hong Kong) that function similar to an embassy (i.e. reports directly to the United States Department of State and not the Ambassador of the country).[4]
