13-04-14 US Federal "Overseer of Civil Rights" forthe California prisons - another piece of judicial showmanship

Over the past coiuple of decades, the most notable "Overseers of Civil Rights" were appointed for the GITMO detainees, for the People of Los Angeles (following the Rampart Scandeal) and for the California prisons (I believe all were appointed under Bush I corrupt DOJ).  In restrospect, one must conclude that all three were fig leaves, nothing more.  As can be seen below, that is also the case for the California prisons.  jz

Los Angeles Rampart, GITMO , Californai prisons - in all cases the federal Overseers of Civil Rights were/are fig leaves, nothing more...

EDCA Court Rejects Attempt To End Federal Oversight Of California Prisons

[updated story: Sacramento Bee, 4/6/13]
A federal judge today rejected Gov. Jerry Brown's bid to regain control of the state's prisons from federal oversight of inmates' mental health care, ruling that the state has not done enough to improve conditions inside the prisons.
U.S. District Judge Lawrence K. Karlton, in a 68-page order [available here], found that "systemic failures persist" in anti-suicide measures and other mental health care needs.
