The demonstration is planned to leave on Saturday, 8:00pm from Gan Hatikvah, and 8:30pm from HaBimah Square, to the sit-down on Kaplan Street, in front of the Journalist's Association Home, site of the demonstration last year and self-immolation of Moshe Silman, z"l.
The event is expected to attract the general public and a wide range of activists and groups, who have been part of the Social Protest in Israel over the past two years, addressing issues from unaffordaable housing, through unchecked increase in the cost of living, fast rising poverty levels. privatization of natural resources (the latest -natural gas) to tycoons with minimal payments tot he treasury, and failure of corporate and banking regulation.
Poverty has doubled in Israel over the past decade, child "nutritional insecurity is estimated at 800,000 (in a nation of 8 millions), the cost of housing is beyond the reach of most working people, and government policies affected income and asset distribution, that according to international reports is atypical for "democratic nations".
