===2014-06-24 ISRAEL: Ongoing strike, arrests in Holot detention center===
#Israel. Anwar Suliman and Mutasim Ali, two of the refugees leaders at Holot detention center in southern Israel were arrested today in an attempt to break the ongoing strike of over 2000 detainees demanding recognition and freedom. They are waiting now for a hearing before presumably being transfered into Sa'haronim prison.
Mutasim Ali said earlier today: "They called me this morning and told me to come to the Ministry of Interior office in the detention center. I'm not scared and I thought it is going to happen because of our protest. For me there is no difference between Sa'haronim and Holot. Both of them are prisons. Anyway, we continue to demand our freedom and continue the struggle."
In the last week detainees in Holot have been striking and refussing to comply with the 3 times a day obligatory registration (kind of a head count) and refuse to work.
